Overview
Underdeveloped areas of the world have new access to clean water and sanitation…Coastal cities are evacuated before hurricanes claim lives…A new drug offers hope for patients with the early stages of Alzheimer’s…A new helmet keeps a child safe while playing football…HPC matters because HPC is powering revolutionary advances in quality of life – for everyone.
In 2016 SC returns to beautiful Salt Lake City, Utah – a vibrant city with a breathtaking alpine backyard that combines metro and mountain. This metropolitan area of over one million people is adjacent to the beautiful Wasatch Mountains, and easy to get to from anywhere in the world. The Salt Lake City International Airport, rated #1 for on-time arrivals and departures year after year, is just an 8-minute ride to downtown Salt Lake and its convention district. The convention district’s fare-free transit zone, with easy access to TRAX light-rail and buses, makes getting around Salt Lake City simple and affordable.
There is no better place to see why HPC matters to our lives, our future, our communities, and our world.
SC16 will bring together the international supercomputing community—a gathering of scientists, engineers, researchers, educators, programmers, system administrators and developers that is unequaled in the world. The draw of SC is exceptional. The internationally recognized technical program will include presentations, papers, informative tutorials, timely research posters and Birds-of-a-Feather sessions. A 515,000 sq.ft. exhibition hall will feature the latest technologies and accomplishments from the world’s leading vendors, research organizations and universities. SC16 will be the very first opportunity to learn about many of the technologies that will shape the future of large-scale technical computing and data-driven science.
Attending SC is an important part of any HPC professional’s annual development, and the SC conference series is committed to ensuring that all who wish to take part are able to do so. For the first time SC16 will offer childcare services in the convention center to attendees and exhibitors for a small fee. Keep an eye on the conference newsletter and social networks for details on this exciting new service as they emerge.
