Exhibit Floor Network Requests
Important Dates:
August 1, 2016 – SCinet Connection Request System opens
October 14, 2016 – SCinet Connection Request System request submissions without penalty (all orders after October 15 are fulfilled on a best-effort basis with an additional fee imposed)
The SCinet Connection Request System will open August 1, 2016. Connections requests are due by September 30, 2016. We will make every effort to fulfill requests received by October 14, 2016, but in some cases, we will be unable to support late requests. We ask that you consider and submit your needs by the end of September to guarantee that the requested services are available..
Will you need a network connection in your SC16 booth? The SCinet Connection Request System (CRS) makes that possible. SCinet is the high-performance network that provides all the networking connections for the Conference. Using the CRS, booth managers can make requests for any kind of network connections (such as 100, 10, or 1 Gigabit Ethernet) that is needed to support demonstrations, business meetings, or any other event you might hold in your booth. SCinet will email booth managers with information on how to use the CRS including login and password information in Summer, 2016. Be sure to subscribe to the SC newsletter for updates.

Wide-area Network
Each year exhibitors plan large scale demos that connect the convention center to remote HPC resources around the world. In order to support these often ground-breaking demos each year, the conference builds SCinet–a highly sophisticated, very high-capacity network.
To provide the best experience possible for SC16, SCinet is requesting that exhibitors and network entities identify their wide area network (WAN) resource needs. WAN circuits are needed for any exhibitor that requires point-to-point connectivity to a remote location to support a large scale booth demonstration. Last year, SCinet supplied more than 1.3 Terabits of network bandwidth, with network traffic peaking at almost 1 Terabit.
SCinet is working collaboratively with national research and commercial networks to implement the required WAN requirements for SC16.
Please contact the SCinet WAN Team (WAN-team@scinet.supercomputing.org) in advance with your intent to use SC16’s network . Include your specific requirements, such as:
- Circuit type and bandwidth
- Direction of large flows from ACC (inbound, outbound, or both)
- Carrier or provider
- Circuit origination points
- Circuit termination point on the SC16 show floor (if known)
