Vipin Kumar, a professor at University of Minnesota, Computer Science and Engineering Department, has been named recipient of the 2016 IEEE Computer Society Sidney Fernbach Award, one of IEEE Computer Society’s highest awards. Kumar was recognized “for foundational work on understanding scalability, and highly scalable algorithms for graph partitioning, sparse linear systems, and data mining.” The Sidney Fernbach Award will be presented at SC16 on Tuesday, November 15, at 8:15am in the Salt Palace Convention Center Ballroom.
