DescriptionEmerging technology is transforming the practice of medicine from an analog field of paper notebooks, textbooks and charts into a digital domain. This transition may emerge as one the most fundamental important tipping points since the discovery of penicillin, molecular biology, and the sequencing of the human genome.
The success of all of these research programs hinge on harnessing the power of HPC to analyze volumes of complex genomics and other biological datasets that simply can’t be processed by humans alone. The challenge for our community will be to develop the computing tools and services needed to transform how we think about disease and bring us closer to the next frontier in precision medicine.
This panel discussion will center on how this is only possible through the power of high performance computing and big data. Leading voices from the frontlines of clinical care, medical research, HPC system evolution, pharmaceutical R&D and public policy will share diverse perspectives on the future of precision medicine and how it will impact society.
