Ahmed E. Helal

Biography
Ahmed Helal is a PhD candidate in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Virginia Tech. He is currently a graduate research assistant in the Synergy Lab at Virginia Tech under the direction of Professor Wu Feng. He is the recipient of VT-MENA PhD Fellowship, 2013-2018. His research interests lie at the intersection of scientific computing, high-performance computing, and compiler technology with applications in computational fluid dynamics (CFD) and electronic design automation (EDA). In particular, he is interested in parallel and heterogeneous architectures, static and dynamic program analysis, performance modeling and prediction, and architecture- and application-aware optimizations.
