Amy Apon

Biography
Amy Apon is co-Director of the Complex Systems, Analytics, and Visualization Institute (CSAVI), and serves as Professor and Chair of the Division of Computer Science in the School of Computing at Clemson University. Her research focus includes performance modeling and analysis of parallel and distributed systems, technologies for cluster computing, the impact of high performance computing to research productivity, data-intensive computing, and the application area of intelligent transportation systems. Apon was a Program Officer in the Computer and Information Sciences and Engineering Directorate at the National Science Foundation during 2015. Apon has been the PI of multiple NSF-funded collaborative projects with a focus on cyberinfrastructure enablement and workforce development, spanning institutions across several states, and is the author or co-author of more than one hundred scholarly publications.
