Bill Spotz

Biography
Bill Spotz is a senior researcher in the Center for Computational Research at Sandia National Laboratories in Albuquerque, New Mexico, USA. His research interests include numerical methods, global atmosphere modeling, and HPC. He is the lead developer of PyTrilinos, a set of Python wrappers for select Trilinos packages that cover distributed linear solvers, nonlinear solvers, eigensolvers, and other HPC-related capabilities. He helped Enthought develop DistArray, a parallel version of NumPy, and he wrote numpy.i, a SWIG (Simple Wrapper Interface Generator) interface file that aids in the automatic conversion of C-type arrays in C and C++ to NumPy arrays in Python.
