Dongsheng Xu received a Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering from the Institute of Metal Research(IMR), Chinese Academy of Sciences in 1994. He is a professor at IMR since 2004. He serves as deputy director of the Computational Materials Science Branch of C-MRS, and is a Committee Member of the Solid State Physics and Statistical Physics Committee of Chinese Physical Society. He also holds adjunct professor positions at the University of Science and Technology of China, Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Ohio State University. He has published over 100 papers and holds 6 patents. His research interests include multi-scale modeling of micro-structural evolution and mechanical behavior of structural materials, aiming at alloy design and process optimization of titanium alloys.
