Edgar A. Leon

Biography
Edgar A. Leon is a computer scientist in the Computing department at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL) and a senior member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE). His research foci include operating systems, distributed systems, networks, and computer architecture. Edgar's work includes performance analysis of parallel applications; power-aware computing strategies; emerging memory technologies for supercomputers; and simulation of cluster systems.
Prior to joining LLNL, Edgar was a member of the Novel Systems Architecture group at IBM Research working on performance analysis and optimization of supercomputer systems. Before IBM, he worked for Sandia National Laboratories developing a scalable simulation environment to study the impact of novel architectures on the performance of parallel scientific applications. Edgar holds a Ph.D. degree in computer science from the University of New Mexico. He received the best paper award at the 2015 IEEE International Conference on Cluster Computing.
