Fumiyoshi Shoji
Biography
Fumiyoshi Shoji receiced his Ph.D. from Kanazawa University, Japan, in 2000. He joined RIKEN Next-Generation supercomputer development project and contributed to the development of the K computer from 2006 to 2012 as a R&D scientist/team leader. He is currently a division director at operations and technologies division at RIKEN Advanced institute for Computational Science which is responsible for operation and enhancement of the K computer and the facilities including substation, chillers, refrigerators, gas turbine power generators air handlers etc. His current technical interests include operation improvements of large scale supercomputers including failure analysis and improvements of energy/cost efficiency. He was awarded the Gordon Bell prize in 2011.
