Herman Lam

Biography
Herman Lam is an Associate Professor of ECE and the Director of the Computer Engineering undergraduate program in the College of Engineering at the University of Florida. He also serves as the Associate Director of the NSF Center for High-performance Reconfigurable Computing (CHREC). Dr. Lam has over 25 years of research and development experience in the areas of distributed computing, service-oriented computing, and database management. Currently, his research focuses on methods, tools, and architectures in using scalable reconfigurable computing (a.k.a. reconfigurable supercomputing) for the acceleration of scientifically impactful applications and for behavioral emulation (i.e., coarse-grained simulation) of future-gen applications, and architectures up to exascale. Dr. Lam has authored or co-authored over 150 refereed conference and journal articles and one textbook.
