Ian Karlin
Biography
Ian Karlin is a computer scientist in Livermore Computing at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL). Currently, he is the Institutional Center of Excellence (iCOE) technical lead. The iCOE involves 10 projects that are receiving extra porting effort from IBM and LLNL application and tuning experts to prepare them to run efficiently on the CORAL system at LLNL. He is the CS lead for the SHOCX LDRD project investigating higher order finite element methods for rad-hydro applications on future architectures. Ian is also the principal point of contact for the LULESH proxy application and the DOE technical representative and the LLNS contract representative for the Nvidia Fast-Forward 2 project. In addition, he participates in various procurements for Livermore Computing and interacts with Fast-Forward and Design-Forward vendors in co-design activities.
