Dr. Keiichi Hirose is Executive Manager, Technical Division, Energy Business Headquarters, NTT Facilities, Inc. Japan. He has along association with the IEEE power electronics society (PELS), international telecommunications energy conference (INTELEC). He is a key organizer and Technical Program Committee co-chair for INTELEC 2015 in Osaka, Japan, and he is the nominated representative of the INTELEC Technical Committee (TC) to the PELS Standards Committee. He is a leader in the TC’s Technical Trust on 400 VDC systems (TT7.2). He is currently in working with 380 VDC systems for Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Corporation (NTT) and its customers, as well as researching aspects of smart-grids. He is the general manager of the project “The Demonstration Project for a High-Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) Feeding System at the Texas Advanced Computing Center of the University of Texas at Austin”.
