Nick Nystrom

Biography
Nick Nystrom is Senior Director of Research at the Pittsburgh Supercomputing Center (PSC). He is Principal Investigator for the Bridges project at PSC, which includes the first deployment of the Intel Omni-Path interconnect fabric.
Nick’s current research interests include data analytics, algorithms, scaling applications on leadership-class computing systems, software engineering for HPC, accelerators and their effective programming, performance modeling and prediction, and impacts of programming models and languages on productivity and efficiency. Recent work has focused on scaling diverse computational science codes and workflows to extreme-scale systems, deep hierarchies of memory and concurrency, advanced filesystems, and novel architectural innovations in processors and interconnects.
