Nusrat Sharmin Islam is a PhD candidate and Graduate Research Associate at the Department of Computer Science and Engineering in The Ohio State University. Her research interests include HPC) Big Data, and I/O and File Systems. She is currently working in the Network Based Computing Lab under supervision of Professor Dhabaleswar K. Panda. Her doctoral research focuses on designing high performance file system and I/O middleware for Big Data on HPC clusters. She has published over 20 papers in major international conferences and journals related to her research areas. She is also involved in various professional activities in academic journals and conferences. Most of her works are publicly available through the RDMA for Apache Hadoop software package released under the High Performance Big Data (HiBD) (http://hibd.cse.ohio-state.edu/) project.
