Oreste Villa
Biography
Dr. Oreste Villa is a senior research scientist in NVIDIA Research in the architecture group. Previously, he was a research scientist at Pacific Northwest National Lab (PNNL), with a research focus on computer architectures and simulation, accelerators for scientific computing, and irregular applications. He received his Ph.D. from Politecnico di Milano for his research on "Designing and Programming Advanced Multicore Architectures". While earning his Ph.D., he was an intern student at PNNL, conducting research in programming techniques and algorithms for advanced multicore architectures, cluster fault tolerance, and virtualization techniques for HPC. He received a M.S. degree in Electronic Engineering in 2003 from the University of Cagliari in Italy and an M.E. degree in 2004 in Embedded Systems Design from the University of Lugano in Switzerland.
