Richard Coffey
Biography
Richard Coffey leads efforts in customer experience and outreach at the Argonne Leadership Computing Facility (ALCF). ALCF designs and supports leadership supercomputers, the faster supercomputers in the world, for scientific communities around the globe. ALCF enables scientists to reduce time to solution or to approach problems well beyond the capabilities of traditional supercomputing.
As Director of User Experience, Mr. Coffey runs communication, support, analytics, and educational efforts with a designed-centered, data-driven approach. He is responsible for first encounters with users, direct support of users, user communication channels (email/web/print), surveys, educational programs, and business intelligence for the organization. Mr. Coffey also participates in strategic outreach efforts and collaborations with peer centers throughout the HPC community. He is also professionally and personally passionate about bringing underrepresented groups into the HPC and computational science communities.
