Steve Conway

Biography
Steve Conway, IDC research vice president for high performance computing and data analysis, tracks the convergence of HPC and big data, including in the bio-sciences. He recently spoke on the role of HPC in industry at HPC User Forum conferences in Beijing and Oxford, and contributed two chapters to the 2015 book, Industrial Applications of High Performance Computing: Best Practices.
Before joining IDC, Mr. Conway was vice president of investor relations and corporate communications for Cray and Compuserve. Earlier, he was a loaned executive to United HealthCare. Mr. Conway had a 12-year career in university teaching and administration at Boston University and Harvard University. A former Senior Fulbright Fellow, he holds bachelor's and master's degrees in German from Columbia University and a master's in comparative literature from Brandeis University, where he also completed doctoral coursework and exams.
