Professor Wen-mei Hwu holds an endowed chair in the Department of ECE at the University of Illinois (UIUC). His research interests are in the area of architecture, implementation, compilation, and parallel algorithms. He is the chief scientist of the Parallel Computing Institute and director of the IMPACT research group. For his contributions, he has received a number of awards and positions. Wen-mei received his Ph.D. in computer science from the University of California, Berkeley.
